Youth perspectives on women’s economic inclusion highlighted at national quiz finale
Team SPRIHA has secured the first runner-up position at the national university quiz competition ‘#ClearHerPath’, highlighting a growing dialogue on women’s economic participation in South Asia.
The prestigious event was organised by the South Asian Network on Economic Modeling in collaboration with the World Bank Group and the South Asian Economics Students’ Meet.
The competition attracted widespread participation from across the country, with more than 200 teams competing in the preliminary rounds. Designed to test analytical and strategic thinking, the event progressed through multiple rigorous stages.
The first round required participants to submit analytical, theme-based written responses. This was followed by a creative 30-second video challenge in the second stage. The grand finale brought together the top finalists for a high-pressure quiz featuring multiple segments focused on economic policy and gender equality.
Team SPRIHA, representing the University of Dhaka, fielded a multidisciplinary team comprising students from the Department of Development Studies, Ahnaf Amir Aunabil, Nowshin Nawar Prioty and Manfara, alongside Iftehaz Yeasir Iftee from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka. The team was recognised for its strong understanding of economic frameworks and women’s empowerment initiatives across the region.
Organisers and partner institutions emphasised that initiatives such as ‘#ClearHerPath’ play an important role in engaging the next generation of researchers and policymakers in addressing structural and economic barriers affecting women in South Asian labour markets.
