The Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education has invited nominations for the Independence Award 2027, the country’s highest civilian award, recognising outstanding contributions at the national level.

In an order issued on Sept 29, the ministry asked all departments, agencies and institutions under its jurisdiction to submit nomination proposals.

The award will recognise outstanding contributions by individuals, institutions, groups and organisations in 13 fields, including the Liberation War and independence, science and technology, medicine, education, literature, culture, sports, rural development, social and public service, population control, public administration, research and training, as well as other fields determined by the government.

Nomination proposals, prepared according to the guidelines issued by the Cabinet Division, must be submitted by Nov 1 along with the required documents.

The ministry has asked applicants to submit 30 hard copies of each nomination, along with a soft copy by email or through the D-Noth system.
