BAU Musical Regiment stages first self-organised musical evening
The BAU Musical Regiment organised its first self-organised musical evening, ‘Fera’, at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) on Friday, featuring 18 songs performed by local and international students.
Held under the theme ‘Walking a New Path on an Old Road’, the event took place at the university’s Amratalay on 2 October. It also featured decorative lighting and food stalls, drawing students as well as visitors from outside the campus.
Professor Dr Mahbubul Pratik Siddique of the Department of Microbiology and Hygiene inaugurated the programme.
The event marked the first major programme organised independently by the musical group since its new committee took charge. Its members had previously performed at various university programmes, but this was their first initiative to organise a musical evening independently.
Rivu Kumar Saha, general secretary of the BAU Musical Regiment, said the programme was dedicated entirely to music.
“Members of the organisation have performed at many events before, but this is our first independently organised programme. We named it ‘Fera’ because our musical journey follows the same old path, but we have started moving forward in a new way,” he said.
