The Army Institute of Business Administration (Army IBA Sylhet), an affiliated institute of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), has officially released its undergraduate admission circular for the four-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program for the Session 2026-2027A.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates from any group who have passed their SSC and HSC (or equivalent) examinations are eligible to apply under the following conditions:

• HSC Passing Year: Must have passed HSC or equivalent examinations in 2024 or 2025.
• National Curriculum Requirements: * Minimum GPA of 3.5 in SSC and 3.25 in HSC (or equivalent).
  • A combined total collective GPA of not less than 7.0.
• GCE O-Level & A-Level Requirements: * Minimum average grade point of 2.5 in O-Level and 2.0 in A-Level.
  • Grade point conversions: $A = 4$, $B = 3$, $C = 2$, $D = 1$.
  • Average grade points are calculated using the 5 best grades for O-Level (including Mathematics) and the 3 best grades for A-Level.
  • Candidates must not possess an ‘F’ grade in any subject across either level.

Application procedure

1. Online Registration: Visit the official website at https://aibasylhet.edu.bd/ and click on the ‘Apply Online’ button. Candidates must choose their examination centre during this process, which will be allotted based on time and capacity.
2. Confirmation: A primary application confirmation message will be automatically sent to the candidate’s registered mobile number upon successful submission.
3. Fee Payment: Eligible shortlisted candidates will receive a mobile message within one working day detailing instructions for the admission fee payment.
   • Admission Fee: 1000 BDT.
   • Payment Channels: Online via SSL Commerz (supporting all banks and mobile financial services) or directly to the bKash Merchant Number: +8801769176063. The unique transaction ID must be preserved and mentioned in the designated form.
4. Photo Upload: After final payment, applicants must attach their photograph and other required information using the link provided in the message.
5. Admit Card: Instructions for downloading the admit card will be communicated to eligible candidates via a mobile text message.

Examination structure and merit list

The final merit list will be compiled by combining the results of the written exam, the oral examination (viva), and the candidate’s previous SSC and HSC (or equivalent) academic performances.

• Subjects Covered: English, Mathematics, General Aptitude, and General Knowledge.
• Passing Criteria: Applicants must secure the minimum qualifying marks in each individual subject to pass the written assessment.
• Viva Voce: The viva examination will take place at the AIBA Sylhet Campus on the same day as the written test, immediately following its conclusion.
