BRAC University invites applications for its prestigious Master of Science in Early Childhood Development (MECD) program. This professional development curriculum is specifically tailored to enhance the capacity of ECD professionals from GOs/NGOs, educators, health professionals, school teachers, and fresh graduates.
The program is structured around a flexible, modular system of courses and is delivered through a blended learning modality (70% online classes and 30% in-person classes at the BRAC University main campus).
Programme Structure
The curriculum offers two distinct pathways depending on your professional and academic goals:
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in ECD: 9 courses | 27 credits | Duration: 18 months
- Master of Science (MSc) in ECD: 9 courses + a 9-credit dissertation | 36 credits | Duration: 24 months
Minimum Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must fulfil the following minimum academic standards to be considered for admission:

| SSC / Equivalent & HSC / Equivalent | Minimum GPA 2.5 or 2nd Class/Division in SSC and HSC separately (including additional subjects). |
| O-Level & A-Level | O-Level: Minimum 5 subjects. A-Level: Minimum 2 subjects. Minimum GPA 2.5 in O-Level and A-Level separately (Scale: A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1. Only one ‘E’ grade is acceptable across both levels). |
| Bachelor’s Degree | Minimum 15 years of education with a 2nd Class or a minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 (or equivalent) from any government-authorised university. |
Important Note: Completion of Foundation and General Education Development (GED) courses alone does not qualify a candidate for admission.
Admission Assessment Procedure
The selection process evaluates candidate suitability through a multi-stage assessment held on a single day.
- Written Test: A 1-hour written examination assessing fundamental aptitude.
- Vival/Interview: A short interview evaluating the applicant’s English language proficiency.
- Schedule: Both the written examination and the viva will take place on the same day, separated by a short 15–30 minute break.
Exemptions & Mandates
- Exemption: Graduates of BRAC University holding a CGPA of 3.0 or above are exempted from the written admission test.
- Mandatory Requirement: The interview component is strictly mandatory for all applicants, including exempted BRAC University graduates.
