The Ministry of Education, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, has published a notice inviting applications for the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship 2027.

This prestigious programme offers Bangladeshi citizens the opportunity to pursue higher studies in Japan across various academic levels, including Research (Master’s and PhD), Undergraduate, College of Technology (KOSEN), and Specialized Training College programmes.

Scholarship Categories and Quotas

The primary selection will recommend a specific number of candidates across the following categories:

  • Research (Master’s & PhD): 40 candidates
  • Undergraduate: 25 candidates
  • College of Technology (KOSEN): 15 candidates
  • Specialized Training Group: 05 candidates

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Applicants must be Bangladeshi citizens.
  • Age Requirements:
    • Research Level: Born on or after 2 April 1992.
    • Other Levels: Born on or after 2 April 2002.
  • Educational Qualifications:
    • Master’s/Doctoral: Must have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree from a recognised university.
    • Undergraduate/Specialized Training: Must have passed Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent exams. Students appearing for HSC in 2026 are also eligible to apply.
    • College of Technology: Must have passed Class 11.

Application Guidelines

  • Online Application: Candidates must first complete the preliminary information form at http://202.4.112.150:3030
  • Application Window: The online link is active from 28 April 2026 to 12 May 2026 (until 4:00 PM).
  • Hard Copy Submission: After the online submission, a hard copy of the application along with attested copies of academic certificates, mark sheets, and a passport or National ID must be submitted.
  • Submission Venue: Designated box at Gate No. 2, Bangladesh Secretariat, Dhaka, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
  • Deadline for Hard Copy: 12 May 2026, by 4:00 PM.

Selection Process

The Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education will conduct the initial screening and selection. The list of primarily selected candidates will be published on the Ministry’s official website (www.shed.gov.bd). Final processing will be handled by the Embassy of Japan in Dhaka.
