Bangladesh’s women’s junior hockey team clinched the Women’s Junior AHF Cup 2026 title after defeating Kazakhstan 2-0 in the final in Muscat, Oman, completing the tournament unbeaten.

The title marks a historic achievement for Bangladesh women’s hockey, with the team remaining undefeated throughout the competition, according to a Bangladesh Hockey Federation press release issued today (19 July).

The federation said the players’ performances, discipline, confidence, and fighting spirit throughout the tournament brought distinction to the country.

Chief of Air Staff and Bangladesh Hockey Federation President Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan was present in Oman during the tournament and congratulated the team on its success.

He has closely monitored the development of hockey in Bangladesh and has continued to provide guidance and encouragement for the sport and its players. His presence at the tournament served as a source of inspiration for the team.

The press release also acknowledged the support of members of the Bangladeshi community in Oman, who attended the matches throughout the tournament to cheer on the team. The federation president thanked them for their support.

During his official visit to Oman, the Air Chief also held courtesy meetings with the president of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), the president of Hockey Oman, senior officials of the Asian Hockey Federation, and other figures from the international hockey community.

According to the federation, the meetings included discussions on the development of hockey in Bangladesh, international cooperation, and future prospects for the sport.
