46th BCS written exams to begin 8 May, 47th preli rescheduled to 8 August

In response to confusion and concern among candidates, the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) has issued an official statement clarifying the current status of multiple BCS examinations. The move comes amid the spread of misleading and incomplete reports in various media outlets, which have disrupted candidate preparation and generated uncertainty.

According to the statement, the written examinations of compulsory subjects for the 46th BCS will be held from 8 to 19 May 2025. The post-related written examinations are expected to begin in the last week of June and conclude by 7 July 2025.

BPSC also announced that oral examinations of the 44th BCS—scheduled from 22 April to 19 May—will remain suspended for candidates who are participating in the 46th BCS written examination. These postponed viva sessions will resume after 16 June, and a revised schedule will be published in due course.

Meanwhile, the commission aims to publish the final results of the 44th BCS and the written results of the 45th BCS by June 2025. The preliminary test of the 47th BCS, originally slated for 27 June, has been rescheduled to 8 August 2025.

Addressing concerns over delays, the commission stated that efforts are underway to resolve the backlog involving the 44th, 45th, and 46th BCS exams. It further clarified that certain logistical steps—such as printing of question papers and allocation of exam centres—require cooperation from other institutions, which can cause unavoidable delays.

Candidates have been advised to follow only the official BPSC website (www.bpsc.gov.bd) for accurate and up-to-date information regarding exam schedules and results.
