Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) will begin undergraduate admissions for the 2024–25 academic year on 15 April.
According to the university website, admission for A unit (Science faculty) will take place on 15 and 16 April, and for B unit (Science, Humanities, Commerce) on 17 April. Applicants must attend in person with original SSC and HSC transcripts, blood group documents, and Tk17,000 in fees.
However, student organisations have criticised the admission fee as excessive. Several groups, including the student wings of BNP, Jamaat, and the Left, have called for a reduction. A group of students has also announced a demonstration on Sunday demanding a fee cut.
In response, admission committee member-secretary Mohammad Rafiqul Islam told Prothom Alo that discussions are underway at the administrative level regarding the concerns.
