Netflix has officially revealed the title for its upcoming animated Stranger Things series— ‘Stranger Things: Tales From ’85’. Set between Seasons 2 and 3 of the original show, the spin-off brings fans back to Hawkins in the winter of 1985 — this time in animated form.

Created with the nostalgic spirit of Saturday morning cartoons in mind, the series is being executive produced by Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer, along with Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, and showrunner Eric Robles.

Influenced by classics like Scooby-Doo and The Real Ghostbusters, the show blends retro vibes with modern animation styles akin to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Arcane.

The new series features familiar characters plus a new addition: Nikki, a mohawk-sporting girl with attitude who joins the gang to battle spooky new monsters — including zombie pumpkins and a snow shark. While an exact release date hasn’t been confirmed, Netflix says ‘Tales From ’85’ will hit screens in 2026. Meanwhile, fans can prepare for the live-action show’s final season, rolling out in three parts starting 26 November 2025.
