Debate is where logic meets emotion, and disagreement sparks understanding. To nurture this culture among the youth of Bangladesh, the RUET Debating Club (RUETdc) is set to host the sixth edition of its national debate festival, marking a proud milestone in its journey.

Founded in 1992 as the Debating Society of RUET, RUETdc is the sole debating organisation at Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET). Committed to sharpening critical thinking and promoting thoughtful discourse, it has grown into a vibrant hub of student dialogue.

This year’s event expands to include the 1st National Inter-School and College Debate Tournament alongside the 6th National Inter-University Debate Tournament. A total of 64 teams, 32 from UGC-approved universities and 32 from schools and colleges, will compete.

Preliminary rounds for the school and college category were held online on 11 July. The university segment’s rounds will be held on campus on 18 July, followed by the grand finals for both categories on 19 July at RUET. A prize pool of Tk15,000 has been announced.

The event is proudly titled Smart BEEE Presents RUETdc National Debate Festival 2025. Smart BEEE, a UK-based educational consultancy, is the Title Partner. The Department of Narcotics Control joins as Silver Partner, bdapps as Community Partner, and Udvash-Unmesh as Logistic Partner. Moner Bondhu serves as Mental Health Partner, with Code Studio, Rupali Bank, and TEXLab IT offering IT, Strategic, and Digital support respectively. Amit Art provides crests, while Daily Kalbela, The Business Standard, and TBS Graduates serve as media collaborators. Bangladesh Betar is the Radio Partner and RUET Reporters Unity is the Club Partner.

Through this celebration of logic, RUETdc continues its mission to inspire, engage, and prepare youth to lead with reason and empathy.
