The RUETdc National Debate Festival 2025, presented by Smart BEEE, concluded successfully with spirited participation from school, college, and university-level debaters across the country.

The event began with the Interschool and College segment, which held online preliminary rounds via Discord on 11–12 July. The top-performing teams were invited to the Grand Finale, hosted onsite at the RUET Auditorium on 19 July.

The Inter-university segment kicked off on 18 July on the RUET campus, starting at the CSE Building with six rounds of intense debate throughout the day. To offer a glimpse of local flavour, RUETdc organisers arranged seasonal fruits from Rajshahi, warmly received by participants.

Quarter-finals and semi-finals were conducted on 19 July across parallel venues. Later that day, the Grand Finale of the Interschool and College segment was held, with Md Ali Aslam Hosen, Additional Director of the Department of Narcotics Control (Rajshahi Division), attending as a judge.

In the school and college category, Team Panda emerged Champion, while “Band Kar Generator” finished as Runner-up. Fathan (Team Panda) was named “Debater of the Final” and Muhtasim (Band Kar Generator) was awarded “Debater of the Tournament.”

The Inter-university Grand Finale featured a face-off between Jahangirnagar University Debating Organisation (JUDO) and Khulna University of Engineering and Technology Debating Society (KUETDS). KUETDS claimed the championship title. Shuvojit Mondal (KUET) received both “Debater of the Final” and “Debater of the Tournament.”

The two-day festival concluded with a prize-giving ceremony, where Professor Dr S M Abdur Razzak, Vice-Chancellor of RUET, and Dr Md Rabiul Islam Sarker, DSW, handed over awards to the winners.
