Professor Dr Mohammad Saiful Alam, a renowned soil scientist from the Department of Soil Science, has officially assumed responsibility as the 14th Proctor of Gazipur Agricultural University. He replaces Professor Dr Md Safiul Islam Afrad in this administrative role.

According to the university’s Public Relations Office, Professor Alam is widely recognised for his academic and research excellence, with over 70 national and international publications to his name. He earned his PhD from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2013 and later completed his post-doctoral research at Nagoya University in Japan during 2018–19.

The appointment highlights the university’s ongoing efforts to strengthen academic leadership and uphold campus discipline under experienced scholars.
