The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), in collaboration with the School of Management and Business Administration, SUST, and organised by SUST Business Club (SBC), held a seminar titled “Chartered Accountancy: A Career Choice” on 13 August at the mini auditorium of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology.

The program, presided over by Professor Dr. Mohammad Shahidul Haque, Dean of the School of Management and Business Administration, featured distinguished speakers including Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Sazedul Karim, Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Ismail Hossain, ICAB President N K A Mobin FCA, and ICAB Vice President (Education & Examination) Md. Roknuzzaman FCA. The welcome address was delivered by Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Hamid, Acting Head of the Department of Business Administration.

Speakers elaborated on the scope and opportunities of Chartered Accountancy in a globalised world. They discussed ICAB’s examination structure, professional modules, and practical requirements for establishing a CA firm. Students were also guided with industry insights and strategies for building impactful careers in finance and accounting.

Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Sazedul Karim remarked that Business Administration remains one of the most sought-after departments at SUST since its inception. He emphasised that true success lies not only in achieving personal independence but also in contributing to the welfare of others.

Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Ismail Hossain highlighted the growing global appeal of Chartered Accountancy as a career choice and urged students to explore beyond traditional.
