Seven students of Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) have been selected for the highly competitive Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) for the 2025-26 academic year, placing them among 80 Bangladeshi recipients nationwide.

The scholarship, administered by the China Scholarship Council (CSC), covers tuition, accommodation, monthly stipends, health insurance, and travel costs. The selected students will pursue undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD studies at top Chinese universities.

Syed Nazmus Zawad got the opportunity to study E-Commerce Management at Wuhan University. He said, “Beyond academics, mastering Mandarin and accessing China’s booming tech ecosystem will empower me to bridge digital gaps in Bangladesh.”

Md Mustafizur Rahman, will study Textile Engineering at Wuhan Textile University, described his opportunity as “more than an academic pursuit; it is a chance to stand at the crossroads of tradition and technology.”

Mohammad Ishaque preparing to join Donghua University for Textile Engineering, expressed his enthusiasm: “With Donghua University’s world-class facilities, I aim to advance my expertise in smart textiles and functional materials and help transform Bangladesh’s textile industry into a globally competitive sector.”

Md Abdullah Al Rahad will continue his studies in Textile Engineering at Donghua University. Reflecting on his selection, he stated that the CSC scholarship “brings me one step closer to pursuing my MSc at China’s number one College of Textiles, enabling me to contribute to groundbreaking research.”

Md Farhad Hossain set to study at Wuhan Textile University, said, “Immersing myself in China’s dynamic textile research environment will strengthen my work in sustainable textiles and smart materials, allowing me to drive transformative solutions for Bangladesh.”

Anik Kumar Das will pursue Material Science and Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He shared, “Studying at SJTU aligns perfectly with my passion for advanced nanomaterials. This scholarship is the culmination of a long, demanding journey, and I hope to inspire more BUTEX students to aim globally.”

Tanvir Sikder will study Textile Engineering at Donghua University. On his achievement, he remarked, “This scholarship is a unique opportunity to enhance my knowledge and gain exposure to China’s cutting-edge textile technology.”

This achievement highlights BUTEX’s growing international reputation and underscores the excellence of its students. Alumni of the CSC program have historically contributed to research, technology, and education worldwide, and the new cohort of scholars is expected to continue that legacy.
