The results of the 47th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) preliminary examination have been published, with 10,644 candidates clearing the test.

Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) released the results on Sunday (28 September), which are available on BPSC official website. The commission had earlier announced that the results would be released this month as per schedule.

The 47th BCS preliminary examination was held on 19 September across 256 educational institutions in eight divisional cities, including Dhaka. A total of 374,747 candidates applied for the exam. According to the 47th BCS circular, 3,487 cadre posts and 201 non-cadre posts are vacant, amounting to 3,688 appointments in total. Several new positions have also been introduced in this cycle.

Despite the comparatively higher number of posts, many candidates anticipated stiff competition.

BPSC has already announced a roadmap to complete one BCS cycle per year. Under this plan, a new BCS circular will be issued every November, and results will be published by the following October.
