THE World University Rankings 2026: Where do Bangladeshi universities stand?

The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, released yesterday (9 October), feature 2,191 institutions from 115 countries and territories. Several Bangladeshi universities have found their place in the global rankings this year.
In the 801–1000 bracket, Daffodil International University (DIU), Gazipur Agricultural University, Jahangirnagar University, North South University (NSU), and Dhaka University (DU) have secured their positions.
Following them in the 1001–1200 range are Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), BRAC University, Jashore University of Science and Technology, Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), and Rajshahi University.
In the 1201–1500 category, American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB), Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET), Khulna University, Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), and Chittagong University have been listed.
Meanwhile, East West University (EWU) and the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) have been placed in the 1500+ group.
