‘Future of Accounting’ event held at Jahangirnagar University
The Department of Accounting and Information Systems at Jahangirnagar University, in collaboration with the AIS Business and Analytics Club, organised an event titled “Bangladesh at 54: The Future of Accounting” on International Accounting Day 2025.
The programme was attended by Vice-Chancellor Professor Kamrul Ahsan as the chief guest. In his remarks, he discussed the evolution and sustainability of the accounting profession in a rapidly changing world, highlighting how technological advancements and global trends are shaping its future.
The event featured a panel of distinguished speakers who shared insights on the future landscape of accounting. The speakers included Prawma Tapashi Khan FCCA, country manager of ACCA Bangladesh; Md Tareq Kamal FCA, executive director of the Financial Reporting Council; SM Zahir Uddin Haider FCMA, council member of ICMAB and COO of Hosaf Group; Sk Md Tarikul Islam FCA, partner of Hoda Vasi Chowdhury and Co; Prashanta Shaha FCA, head of internal audit at Brac; and Shovan Krishna Saha ACA ACMA, DGM at Siemens Healthcare Ltd. They spoke about the integration of technology, emerging career opportunities, and the challenges facing today’s accounting professionals.
A special segment of the event welcomed the new students of Batch 54 of the Accounting and Information Systems Department into the AIS Business and Analytics Club. Ragib Hasan, president of the club, extended greetings to the freshers and expressed enthusiasm about future collaborations as the club continues to build a community of aspiring accounting professionals.
