The Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS) has announced its new executive committee for the upcoming term. The 25-member committee was announced yesterday afternoon (30 November).

Rehnuma Shahreen, a student of the 2019–20 session of the Department of Printing and Publication Studies, has been elected president of the organisation. Sumanta Sarkar Arpon, from the same session of the Department of Political Science, has been elected general secretary.

The new 25-member committee includes Md Israt Abu Taimur as vice-president, Nuzhat Jahan Nuha as joint general secretary, and Abdullah Al-Amin Khan Siam as treasurer.

Known as one of the pioneers of Bangladesh’s film society movement, this volunteer organisation organises an annual festival titled “Amar Bhashar Cholochitro,” which is the largest film festival dedicated to the Bangla language.
