Air Vice Marshal M Mustafizur Rahman appointed VC of AAUB
Aviation and Aerospace University, Bangladesh (AAUB) has appointed Air Vice Marshal M Mustafizur Rahman, BSP, GUP, nswc, afwc, psc, GD(P) as its Vice-Chancellor. He assumed office on 21 January, 2026.
Upon assuming charge, Air Vice Marshal Mustafizur Rahman sought the cooperation of all concerned and called for conducting academic and administrative activities with honesty, dedication and sincerity to establish AAUB as a centre of excellence in aviation and space research.
A seasoned aviator, Air Vice Marshal Mustafizur Rahman has over three decades of experience in aviation planning, operations and flight safety. His academic background includes a BSc in Aeronautics from Rajshahi University, a master’s degree in defence studies from National University, an MSc from University of Madras and the National Defence College, as well as an MPhil from Bangladesh University of Professionals.
During his professional career, he served as directing staff at the Defence Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur, and the Armed Forces War Course at the National Defence College. He also held key appointments, including Air Secretary, Director (Planning), Director (Flight Safety) in the Bangladesh Air Force, and Director General (Training) at the Armed Forces Division.
In recognition of his outstanding professional contributions, Air Vice Marshal Mustafizur Rahman received the Bishisto Sheba Padak (BSP) and the Gouraboujjal Uddoyon Padak (GUP).
Prior to joining AAUB as Vice-Chancellor, he served as senior directing staff at the National Defence College.
