NSU hosts book launch on marketing applications and case studies in Bangladesh
North South University’s (NSU) Department of Marketing and International Business (MIB) held a book launch ceremony for two publications: Marketing – Applications in Bangladesh (third edition) by Dr Tamgid Ahmed Chowdhury, and Cases on Marketing – Perspectives from Bangladesh (second edition), a collaborative work authored by faculty members of the Department of Marketing and International Business.
The event took place at the NSU Syndicate Hall on 25 January 2026, with logistical support provided by the Marketing and International Business Club (MIBC).
Speaking at the programme, Dr Tamgid Ahmed Chowdhury, Professor in the Department of Marketing and International Business at NSU, said his book aims to offer students a localised perspective on marketing, which he described as essential for developing a comprehensive understanding of the domestic market. Ms Zarjina Tarana Khalil, Senior Lecturer in the same department and a contributing author of the case book, highlighted the shortage of locally relevant marketing case studies and noted that the publication seeks to bridge the gap between theory and real-life marketing practices in Bangladesh.
The ceremony was attended by several senior university officials, including Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor of North South University; Professor Nasar U. Ahmed, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Professor Abdur Rob Khan, Treasurer; and Professor AKM Waresul Karim, Dean of the School of Business and Economics. As guests of honour, they praised the authors’ initiative and encouraged them to continue contributing to academic scholarship.
The event was also attended by deans and department chairpersons from other schools and departments of NSU, along with industry professionals, faculty members of the MIB department, and students.
