ULAB student wins global student of the year award for second year running
For the second consecutive year, a student from the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) has been named Global Student of the Year at the Global Alliance World Public Relations and Communication Awards, according to a statement from the university.
This year’s recipient, Ryan Morshed Talukder, is an undergraduate at ULAB Business School, majoring in accounting with a minor in media studies and journalism. The university stated that he was recognised for his leadership, communication initiatives, and efforts to promote health and wellbeing.
Last year, Anica Hossain, a ULAB student pursuing a master’s in communication, received the same accolade at the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) in Bali, Indonesia, the university added.
The Global Alliance World Public Relations and Communication Awards is an international platform recognising public relations and communication management programmes and case studies. This year’s competition received over 89 entries from 19 countries, with awards presented in 24 categories.
Reflecting on the achievement, Talukder said his public health advocacy was central to the recognition. “Growing up, I witnessed how malnutrition and poor health hold people back in Bangladesh. That inspired me to work towards SDG 3: good health and wellbeing, to help ensure healthier lives for all. My aim was simple: to uplift others and help them lead healthier, stronger lives,” he said.
The trophies will be presented at the Global Alliance World Public Relations Forum 2026, scheduled for 15–21 November in Abuja, Nigeria, the university said.
