The new committee of the Gafargaon Student Welfare Association at the University of Dhaka (DU) has been officially announced for the 2026 session. Khaled Mahbub has taken charge as President, while Mehedi Hasan Sabbir has been named General Secretary.

The President, Khaled Mahbub, is a student of the 2020–21 session from the Institute of Leather Engineering and Technology. Meanwhile, the General Secretary, Mehedi Hasan Sabbir, is a student of the 2022–23 session from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE).

Other office-bearers in the committee include Vice-President Kawsar Ahmed Pias, Joint General Secretary Md. Arif Hasan, Organising Secretary Rabeya Khatun, Office Secretary Md. Fatehan Nur Ishrak, and Press Secretary Tanha Tabassum Hridi.

Upon receiving his new mandate, President Khaled Mahbub said, “By the grace of Almighty Allah and everyone’s support, I feel privileged to take on this responsibility. I will strive to make the organisation more dynamic and student-friendly through unity, sincerity, and mutual co-operation.”

General Secretary Mehedi Hasan Sabbir remarked, “I am grateful for the trust placed in me as General Secretary. Alongside the new committee members, I will endeavour to work for the welfare of the organisation with dedication, honesty, and a sense of duty.”

The association has stated that a full committee will be announced shortly.
