North South University hosted its first-ever Russian musical concert at the main auditorium on 1 January, bringing together students, faculty members and distinguished guests for an evening of cultural exchange.
Jointly organised by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell of NSU and Russian House in Dhaka, the event began at 4.00 pm and marked a notable cultural occasion on the university campus.
According to the organisers, the programme was the first Russian musical concert to be held at NSU, making it a significant milestone for the university community.
The event featured Russian songs and musical performances reflecting the country’s rich cultural heritage, offering the audience an immersive experience of Russian art and tradition. The Director of Russian House in Dhaka, along with other distinguished delegates, attended the event, adding further significance to the gathering.
Alongside the concert, a photo exhibition was also arranged, showcasing visual representations of Russia’s diverse culture, traditions and landscapes. The exhibition featured works under the theme Multinational Russia, including photographs titled I Will Save Up the Light in My Hands, Red Piano, Ceremony, Woman Living in the Mountains, Hillman, Darya, Chuk and Gek, Zadonye Farm, Wedding and Holidays.
The exhibition added a broader cultural dimension to the programme by presenting glimpses of daily life, indigenous communities, traditional attire, rural settings and regional identities from different parts of Russia.
Organisers said the event aimed to promote cross-cultural understanding and provide the NSU community with a memorable cultural experience through music, art and international engagement.
