In a dazzling display of mathematical prowess, the Gonitkonya, Bangladesh Girls’ Math Team, has emerged victorious with one silver medal and three bronze medals at the highly anticipated European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad 2023 (EGMO 2023).
Leading the charge, Nujhat Ahmed Disha, a brilliant student scheduled to take her HSC in 2024 from Viqarunnisa Noon School & College, secured the silver medal by masterfully solving all but one of the six complex problems presented to her. Her teammates Afsana Akter from Holy Cross College, Arifa Alam from St. Francis Xavier’s Girls’ School & College, and Saniva Rakib Soha from Monipur High School And College, also rose to the challenge, taking home bronze medals by solving multiple problems with skill and precision.
Against stiff competition from 55 countries, the Bangladesh team dazzled with a total score of 92 points, securing a respectable 20th place finish. The pride and joy of their nation, the Gonitkonya girls have made Bangladesh proud with their impressive showing at the prestigious EGMO 2023.
