AIUB

American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) hosted a special event titled “Let’s Talk with the UNDP Resident Representative” at its campus on 9 April 2026, featuring UNDP Resident Representative Stefan Liller. Held under the theme “Partners for Progress: Exploring UNDP and Bangladesh’s Evolving Collaboration Through the Eyes of Youth”, the event created a platform for students and faculty members from different departments to engage in a roundtable discussion.

Key issues discussed at the event included youth and the Sustainable Development Goals, climate action and green investment, and democracy, human rights and gender equality. Head of Communications at UNDP Bangladesh Md Abdul Quayyum was also present.

The meeting was attended by AIUB’s top leadership, including Founder Member and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees Nadia Anwar, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Saiful Islam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Abdur Rahman, Registrar Gp Capt (retd) Dr Mohammad Zahidul Islam Khan, Proctor Prof Dr S A M Manzur H Khan, and Prof Dr Farheen Hassan.

During the official meeting with the UNDP resident representative, the two sides discussed possible areas of future cooperation between AIUB and UNDP. The AIUB Performing Arts Club also presented a cultural performance in honour of Stefan Liller.

The event highlighted AIUB’s continued commitment to strengthening global academic engagement and creating opportunities for youth participation in international cooperation.
