IUB EEE Alumni Day

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) of Independent University Bangladesh successfully organised EEE Alumni Day 2026, a grand reunion that brought together former students, faculty members, current students, and distinguished guests for an evening of celebration, nostalgia, and inspiration.

Organised under the theme “Back to the Roots,” the event aimed to reconnect alumni with the department that shaped their academic foundation, professional journeys, and lifelong friendships. More than 130 alumni from different batches attended the programme, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with joy, memories, and pride.

From the beginning of the evening, emotions ran high as alumni returned to their alma mater, many meeting classmates, teachers, and friends after several years. Conversations about academic life, laboratory experiences, student activities, and shared memories filled the venue, turning the gathering into a deeply meaningful homecoming.

A key highlight of the programme was the speech delivered by Professor Dr Mustafa Habib Chowdhury, Head of the Department of EEE. He described the reunion as more than an event, calling it a “homecoming” that reflects a lifelong bond between the department and its graduates. He emphasised that alumni continue to shape the department’s identity through their achievements and professional journeys.

The event was further enriched by the presence of respected faculty members, including Professor Dr Md Abdur Razzak, Professor Dr Khosru M Salim, Professor Dr Shahriar Khan, Professor Dr Md Kafiul Islam, Dr Afroza Sultana, Dr Habib Bin Muzaffar, and Dr Farhad Alam. Their remarks highlighted the department’s academic growth, achievements, and future aspirations.

The programme was honoured by the presence of Chief Guest Professor Dr Daniel W Lund, Pro Vice Chancellor of IUB, whose participation underscored the university’s commitment to strengthening alumni engagement and institutional connection.

A significant milestone of the event was the formal announcement of the EEE Alumni Association Executive Committee 2026–27. The formation of the committee marks a new chapter for the alumni network, aimed at strengthening communication, creating professional opportunities, and supporting departmental initiatives.

The event also featured an emotional alumni reflection segment, where Md Mosiur Rahman Shadhin shared personal memories of his undergraduate years and expressed gratitude for the guidance received during his academic journey. He acknowledged the role of the IEEE IUB Student Branch and appreciated Md Arifur Rahman, Chairperson of the IEEE IUB Student Branch, for his leadership in organising the event.

Beyond formal sessions, the evening was filled with laughter, photographs, reunions, and networking, as alumni reconnected and revisited shared experiences, reinforcing the enduring bond of the EEE family.
