BUFT expands international student support, attracting global enrolment
BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) is strengthening its position as an emerging destination for international higher education by expanding a range of student support facilities at its Dhaka campus.
The university is drawing an increasing number of students from countries including Italy, China, Nigeria, India and Sri Lanka, reflecting its growing global appeal.
BUFT has introduced a structured international admission system aligned with national academic standards, offering two intake sessions each year to accommodate global applicants. The process is conducted online and supported by visa guidance and personalised assistance, including airport reception for newly admitted students.
Beyond admissions, the university has focused on creating a supportive environment. International students are provided with transport services across the city, access to an on-campus medical centre for primary healthcare and scholarship opportunities based on academic performance.
The campus, located near Uttara Model Town, also offers convenient access to housing, dining and other daily necessities.
Recognising the importance of cultural adaptation, BUFT encourages students to learn basic Bangla and is introducing language support initiatives to help them integrate more comfortably into local life.
The university also maintains an equal tuition policy for both local and international students, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive education.
Students have cited these initiatives as key reasons for choosing BUFT. Abdullah, a student from Nigeria, said the university’s reputation for quality education, modern facilities and strong international support influenced his decision. He added that studying at BUFT would provide valuable skills, global exposure and a strong academic foundation.
With its industry-focused programmes, expanding student services and multicultural campus environment, BUFT continues to attract learners from across Asia, Europe and Africa, reinforcing its role as a growing hub for international education in Bangladesh.
