IUB holds workshop on learning outcomes attainment and course file preparation
A half-day workshop on “Learning Outcomes Attainment and Course File Preparation for Social Sciences and Humanities Programs” was successfully held on 7 May 2026 at SLASS Faculty Lounge 7010 of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB).
The event was jointly organised by the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), IUB. It aimed to enhance faculty understanding of outcome-based education (OBE), with a focus on effective strategies for measuring learning outcomes and maintaining comprehensive course documentation in line with institutional and accreditation standards.
The session was conducted by Prof Md Abdur Razzak, Director of IQAC, IUB, who provided an in-depth overview of learning outcomes alignment, assessment mapping and systematic course file preparation.
Through interactive discussions and practical examples, he guided participants on designing course materials that effectively reflect programme learning outcomes and ensure continuous quality improvement. The workshop also highlighted structured documentation, including course outlines, assessment records and attainment analysis, as essential components of academic quality assurance.
Six faculty members from the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities participated in the workshop, engaging in discussions and sharing experiences related to course management and assessment practices.
Prof Shahriar Kabir, Additional Director (QA), IQAC, IUB, was also present and contributed to the discussions.
The workshop concluded with a productive exchange of ideas and reaffirmed the commitment of the department and IQAC to strengthening teaching quality, assessment practices and academic accountability at IUB.
