Uttara University successfully celebrated “World Human Resource Day 2026” on 20 May, 2026, by hosting a corporate event, the UU HR Summit 2026. The summit was jointly organised by the Office of External Affairs and the School of Business, in association with the Federation of Bangladesh Human Resource Organisations (FBHRO), and was proudly presented by Guardian Life Insurance Limited. It took place at the university’s Multipurpose Hall.

Under the theme “Where Future Leaders Meet Industry Icons,” the event served as a bridge between academia and the corporate sector. Around twenty senior HR professionals, talent strategists, and leading corporate changemakers from top organisations across Bangladesh attended to discuss industrial collaboration, emerging trends, challenges, and the future of human resources.

The summit was hosted, anchored, and expertly moderated by Professor Dr A S M Shahabuddin, Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at Uttara University. High-level leadership attended from prominent financial and telecom companies, including United Commercial Bank PLC, Mercantile Bank PLC, National Finance Limited, Grameenphone Limited, Banglalink Digital Communications Limited, and bKash Limited. Major conglomerates such as United Group, Bdjobs.com Ltd., Transcom Distribution Co. Ltd., Guardian Life Insurance Limited, BRACNet Limited, Partex Star Group, Cross World Power Ltd, Magpie Group, Texsa Team Group, Lead Nation Academy, E-Zone HRM Limited, Index Accessories Limited, ABA Group, atb jobs, and Ha-Meem Group were also represented, creating a remarkable convergence of industry expertise.

The summit featured a keynote speech from Professor Dr Musharrof Hossain, Founder President and HR Advisor at icddr,b, followed by presentations from distinguished corporate leaders. These sessions offered students and attendees valuable insights into industry trends, challenges, and leadership practices, while providing the audience an opportunity to engage directly with top professionals.
