Communication Day 2026 celebrated with festive spirit at Southern University

Communication Day—2026 was celebrated at Southern University today, 23 May 2026, in a vibrant and festive atmosphere, marked by enthusiastic participation and outstanding creativity. Organised by the Department of Business Administration, the event focused on youth leadership, creative communication, and skills development. This year’s theme was Your voice, your power, your future.

The inaugural session was attended by Professor Dr Israt Jahan, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration; Professor Chowdhury Mohammad Ali, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences and Law; Professor Dr Engineer Mozammel Haque, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering; Professor Dr Md Shawkatul Meher; Professor Engineer Ashutosh Nath; and Dr Md Sirajul Islam, Head of the Department, along with faculty members of the Department of Business Administration. Students of the BBA and THM programmes from Batch 77 also participated in large numbers.

The successful organisation of Communication Day—2026 was made possible through the dedicated guidance, visionary leadership, strong coordination, and tireless efforts of the departmental faculty members and mentors—Mohammad Hasan, Mushfeka Reza Siddika, and Sal Sabil. Their dynamic supervision brought a distinctive sense of professionalism and energy to the entire event.

More than a hundred students from Batch 77 took part in the programme, divided into ten teams. Each team showcased different aspects of business communication with remarkable skill, creativity, and professionalism. Through individual stalls and live demonstrations, students presented practical experiences related to oral and written communication, email writing, meeting management, public speaking, body language, and communication networks.

Students expressed their ideas, knowledge, and innovative concepts through poster presentations, danglers, festoons, digital banners, team presentations, focus group discussions, and interactive communication displays. The event played a significant role in enhancing students’ confidence, teamwork abilities, leadership qualities, professional conduct, and overall communication skills. It also proved to be an effective and inspiring platform for preparing students for their future professional careers through hands-on, experiential learning.

During the closing session, Mohammad Moin Uddin, Regional Head (South) of United Commercial Bank, and Saber Shah, Founder of Chittagong Live, highly praised the students for their exceptional creativity and innovative initiatives. They encouraged students to continue engaging in such practical and knowledge-based activities alongside their academic studies.

The distinguished guests expressed their admiration for the students’ stall presentations, practical exhibitions, creative thinking, and the professional reflection of communication concepts demonstrated throughout the event.

At the concluding stage, all participating teams were awarded certificates of appreciation and crests. In addition, the top three stalls received special awards in recognition of their outstanding creativity, presentation skills, and overall performance. Overall, Communication Day—2026 emerged as a unique convergence of knowledge, creativity, leadership, and professional excellence.
