A Ghanaian witch doctor has claimed that Cape Verde will eliminate Argentina from the World Cup in the round of 32.

Popular spiritualist Nana Kwaku Bonsam made the assertion in a recent interview, stating that Cape Verde would knock the defending champions out of the tournament.

Bonsam has previously drawn attention for similar predictions. Ahead of England’s match against Ghana, he claimed to have cast a spell on Harry Kane, predicting the forward would fail to score. Kane did not find the net as the match ended in a goalless draw.

However, the suggestion that Cape Verde national football team could eliminate Argentina national football team has been met with scepticism. Argentina are the reigning World Cup holders and are led by Lionel Messi, the Argentine legend widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the sport’s history.

The two sides are scheduled to meet in the knockout stage, where Argentina will enter the tie as clear favourites.
