Professor M Asaduzzaman Sarker of the Department of Agricultural Extension Education at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of Khulna Agricultural University (KAU).

The appointment was announced through a gazette notification issued on 28 July by the General Universities Branch of the Secondary and Higher Education Division under the Ministry of Education.

According to the notification, the appointment was made with the approval of the President of Bangladesh, who also serves as the chancellor of the universities, under Section 10(1) of the Khulna Agricultural University Act, 2015.

Professor Sarker will serve as vice-chancellor for four years from the date of joining or until reaching the statutory retirement age, whichever comes first.

During his tenure, he will receive the salary, allowances and other benefits applicable to the post of vice-chancellor. As the university’s chief executive officer, he will be required to reside on the campus full-time.

The notification also states that the President and chancellor reserve the authority to revoke the appointment at any time if deemed necessary.
