National University and IDP Education Bangladesh have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to help millions of students at the university’s affiliated colleges pursue higher education abroad.

The agreement was signed at IDP Education Bangladesh’s head office in Gulshan, Dhaka, on Monday (27 July), according to a press release.

Professor Dr ASM Amanullah, Vice-Chancellor of National University, signed the agreement on behalf of the university, while Rajib Mahbubul, Country Director of IDP Education Bangladesh, signed on behalf of IDP.

National University was also represented by Professor Dr Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Pro-Vice Chancellor, and other senior officials.

Representatives of IDP Education Bangladesh included Elora Sharmee, Head of IELTS Operations; Mostafizur Rahman, Senior Director for South Asia at the Australian Government’s Trade and Investment Commission; Momenur Rahman Moin, Strategic Alliance Manager; Mohammad Shihab Talukder, Head of Marketing; and Anwar Hossain, Head of Sales and Operations.

Under the agreement, IDP Education Bangladesh will provide National University students with guidance on admission to overseas universities, scholarship support and comprehensive assistance with IELTS preparation and testing.

The two organisations will also jointly organise seminars, workshops, education fairs and IELTS awareness sessions.

“IDP has worked for over 50 years to help students worldwide realise their higher education dreams,” Rajib Mahbubul said.

“We are delighted to partner with National University’s vast student community, and we believe this initiative will open new horizons for young students seeking to build international careers.”
