MoJo Stringer Workshop held at Rajshahi University in collaboration with TBS
The Department of Mass Communication and Journalism (MCJ) of the University of Rajshahi (RU) in collaboration with The Business Standard (TBS) organised a MoJo Stringer Workshop titled “Equipping Next-Generation Storytellers Through Mobile Journalism” on 7 October 2026.
The programme began with a welcome speech by Md Mashiur Rahman, Senior Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism at the University of Rajshahi and convener of the MoJo Training Workshop. The event was chaired by Dr Mozammel Hossain Bokul, Chairperson of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at the University of Rajshahi. The programme focused on the practical aspects of mobile journalism, story development and producing news content using mobile devices.
Professor Dr Abdul Alim, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Social Science at the University of Rajshahi, attended the programme as the chief guest. Majumder Babu, Head of Multimedia at The Business Standard, was also present at the programme.
The workshop featured an introduction to the “Classroom to Newsroom” project by Rajib Nandy, Associate Professor of Communication and Journalism at the University of Chittagong. The initiative focuses on connecting journalism education with professional newsroom practices.
TBS representative Mohammad Irfan and SR Shawon conducted mobile journalism sessions and shared practical knowledge on news production and digital storytelling.
Majumder Babu took a special session and then there was a “MoJo Idea Generation and Brain Boosting Session” by Rajib Nandy. The workshop also included a question and answer session and an interactive discussion to invlove the speakers and participants.
