The Hult Prize chapter at Jahangirnagar University (JU) has launched its 2026–27 session, aiming to encourage students to develop business-driven solutions to social and environmental challenges.

The new session will focus on strengthening partnerships, expanding access to mentorship and funding opportunities, and supporting students in turning innovative ideas into practical ventures.

The newly announced leadership committee includes Saima Islam Jasita as campus director, with Tasnim Tabassum Sharon, Sharif Mahmud Prosun, Tashrif Ahmed Anik and Samia Alam Poushee serving as deputy directors.

The launch follows the successful completion of the 2024–25 Hult Prize competition at JU, which began with more than 150 registered teams. After three rounds of competition, 15 teams advanced before six finalists presented their business ideas at the grand finale held at Selim Al Din Muktamancha.

Judges evaluated the proposals through discussions on their feasibility and potential social impact. The winning teams earned the opportunity to represent the university at the national level.

The Hult Prize is an international student entrepreneurship competition that challenges university students to develop sustainable, business-oriented solutions to global challenges. It offers participating teams the opportunity to compete for US$1 million in seed funding.

Through the 2026–27 session, the JU chapter aims to expand student participation and create more opportunities for young entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into viable initiatives.
