Begum Rokeya University, BSCIC launch entrepreneurship training for students
Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur, and Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation have jointly launched a five-day training programme to promote entrepreneurship among university students.
The programme, titled “Entrepreneurship Development”, was inaugurated on 13 June 2026 at Room 201 of Academic Building-3 of the university.
The training has been organised jointly by BSCIC Training Institute, the training institution of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation, and the Faculty of Business Studies of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur.
The inauguration ceremony was chaired by BSCIC Training Institute Principal Dr Md Farhad Ahmed.
Management Studies Department Chairman Professor Dr Mohammad Rafiul Azam Khan attended the event as chief guest.
Finance and Banking Department Chairman Professor Dr Md Nur Alam Siddik, Marketing Department Professor Sheikh Majedul Haque, and BSCIC District Office, Rangpur Extension Officer Md Rakibul Hasan attended as special guests.
BSCIC Training Institute Associate Faculty Member Md Tanzim Hossain is serving as course director of the training programme.
BSCIC Training Institute Assistant Faculty Members Miftahul Jannat Ripa and Md Zubayer Islam are serving as course coordinators.
Speakers at the event said entrepreneurship development has become an important driver of sustainable development, employment generation and economic growth in the current global economic context.
They said a capable and self-reliant young generation can be developed by encouraging entrepreneurial mindsets, innovative thinking and business skills among university students.
To this end, BSCIC has long been implementing entrepreneurship development activities across the country, they added.
The training programme will continue until 17 June 2026.
During the course, participating students will receive practical and technical training on business plan preparation, enterprise management, marketing strategies, financial management, leadership development and different aspects of becoming successful entrepreneurs.
The main objective of the joint initiative is to foster an entrepreneurship culture among university students and contribute to expanding opportunities for successful self-employment.
