BRAC University student Lubaina Afra Islam enters top 10 in “Starship Fusion Chef”
BRAC University student Lubaina Afra Islam has secured a place among the top 10 contestants in the national culinary competition “Starship Fusion Chef,” marking a notable achievement for the university community.
The selection round of the cooking reality show took place at the Mohakhali Community Center in Dhaka, where 60 contestants from across Bangladesh competed in a high-intensity, live kitchen challenge. Participants were evaluated on innovation, taste, presentation, and hygiene, following a day-long competitive process.
Lubaina stood out with her creativity and culinary execution, earning her spot in the final round. Her performance has been recognised as a reflection of both individual talent and growing student engagement in creative fields beyond academics.
Organised by Smile Food Products, the competition aims to promote fusion cuisine by blending local and international flavours. The final stage will feature the top 10 contestants competing for a prize pool of BDT 40 lakh.
The upcoming phase of the competition will be broadcast on Channel i, Chorki, and other digital platforms.
Lubaina’s achievement highlights the increasing presence of young Bangladeshi university students in national creative platforms, showcasing innovation, passion, and emerging talent on a wider stage.
