BRAC CSE DAY

BRAC University hosted “CSE Research Day 2026” on 19 June at its Merul Badda campus, bringing together students, faculty members, researchers, and industry professionals to discuss current trends in computing research and its real-world applications.

Organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, the event focused on strengthening the connection between academic research and industry needs, while encouraging students to explore emerging areas of technology and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The programme featured panel discussions, expert talks, and workshops covering topics such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, bioinformatics, cybersecurity, robotics, blockchain, quantum computing, and human-computer interaction.

A key panel discussion on interdisciplinary research highlighted how computer science can support advancements in public health, biotechnology, engineering, and other fields. Speakers also emphasised the importance of collaboration across disciplines to address complex technological challenges.

Another session focused on internships, software engineering practices, and industry expectations, where professionals and faculty discussed how students can translate academic projects into practical, portfolio-ready work.

The closing ceremony included the presentation of the “Best Thesis Award 2025,” recognising outstanding undergraduate research and encouraging further contributions to innovation and society.

The event was attended by faculty members and industry professionals from both academia and the tech sector, who contributed insights on evolving research directions and industry practices.
