BRACU Duburi earns recognition for underwater robotics innovation
BRAC University has received recognition at the IEB Project Showcasing 2026 for its leadership in research-driven innovation and engineering excellence, exemplified by its pioneering underwater robotics team, BRACU DUBURI.
At the event, the university highlighted its sustained development of advanced underwater robotic technologies—a journey of student-led research and innovation that began in 2017.
The centrepiece of the presentation was DuboMini, BRACU Duburi’s latest Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV), designed and developed by students to advance research and strengthen the team’s international competition initiatives.
The project demonstrated how university-led research translates into practical engineering solutions, while equipping students with hands-on experience in robotics, artificial intelligence, embedded systems, and marine technology.
Recognition from the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), underscores BRAC University’s commitment to fostering innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and experiential learning.
Through initiatives such as BRACU DUBURI, the university is creating opportunities for students to undertake advanced research and represent Bangladesh on global platforms.
Over the years, BRACU DUBURI has established itself as a leading underwater robotics team in Bangladesh, participating in international competitions and advancing marine robotics research nationally.
The development of DuboMini further highlights the university’s dedication to nurturing technological innovation and preparing the next generation of engineers and researchers.
Recognition at the IEB Project Showcasing 2026 marks a significant milestone in BRAC University’s pursuit of excellence in research, innovation, and engineering education.
