The Faculty of Security and Strategic Studies (FSSS) of the Bangladesh University of Professionals successfully organised the “1st CFS International Conference” on 19–20 May 2026 at the university’s Shadhinota Auditorium.

The conference, titled “National Security of South Asia in the Context of the Emerging World Order,” brought together academicians, researchers, policymakers, and security experts from Bangladesh and abroad to discuss pressing regional and global security issues.

Keynote speakers included Dr Pramod Jaiswal from Nepal, Subhashini Abeyasinghe from Sri Lanka, Dr Salma Malik from Pakistan, and Dr Greg Simons from Sweden, alongside distinguished Bangladeshi academics and researchers from various institutions.

The Honourable Speaker of the National Parliament of Bangladesh, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, attended the event as Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasised the importance of regional cooperation, strategic dialogue, and research-based knowledge sharing to ensure peace, stability, and security in South Asia amid the evolving global landscape.

The conference was also attended by the Vice Chancellor of BUP, Major General Md Mahbub-ul Alam, along with deans, senior officials, faculty members, researchers, students, and invited guests.

Over two days, the event featured technical sessions, panel discussions, and research paper presentations, creating a platform for academic and policy-oriented exchange on contemporary security challenges.
