The final round and prize-giving ceremony of the “Abul Khair Group presents BUP IV 2026” Debate Competition, organised in association with Presidency University, was held on 23 May 2026 at Bijoy Auditorium of Bangladesh University of Professionals.

The event was co-sponsored by Trust Bank PLC. Unilever served as the gift partner, while Multifabs Ltd was the apparel sponsor. The Business Standard joined as the print media partner and TBS Graduates served as the youth engagement partner.

The competition was organised by the BUP Debate Club under the supervision of the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The tournament featured two segments: British Parliamentary Debate (Bangla) and British Parliamentary Debate (English). A total of 128 participants from 64 teams representing 40 universities took part in the competition.

In the Bangla segment final, BUP A from Bangladesh University of Professionals retained the championship title by defeating teams from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka, Jahangirnagar University, and International Standard University.

In the English segment final, held on 23 October 2026, IBA DU NA from the Institute of Business Administration of the University of Dhaka emerged as champion. Teams from Bangladesh University of Professionals, North South University, and BRAC University were finalists.

Farim Ahsan from Jahangirnagar University and Ahnaf Sharar from IBA DU were named Debaters of the Tournament in the Bangla segment. In the English segment, Shadman Khan Chowdhury and Areez Binte Hossain, both from North South University, received the same recognition.

The closing and prize-giving ceremony was attended by Brigadier General Mohammad Shahiduzzaman Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, as chief guest. Lecturer Meherin Ahmed Roza, Moderator of the BUP Debate Club, was also present.

Special guests from the sponsor organisations included Saad Jashim, Head of HR at Abul Khair Group, and Professor Dr Anwarul Kabir, Principal Advisor of Abul Khair Group, who shared their insights with participants.
