Prime Bank PLC., in collaboration with the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) and the IUBAT Business Society, recently organised a seminar titled “Financial Inclusion: Engaging & Inspiring Youth in Banking” under its industry-academia collaboration initiative, PrimeAcademia.

The seminar aimed to strengthen the connection between academic learning and practical knowledge of the financial sector while preparing students for careers in banking and related industries.

M M Mahbub Hasan, senior vice president and head of Financial Inclusion and School Banking at Prime Bank, delivered the keynote address. He said financial inclusion extends beyond opening bank accounts and plays an important role in expanding economic opportunities, reducing inequality and promoting sustainable participation in the financial system. He also highlighted the importance of financial literacy and effective money management for long-term personal and professional success.

Md. Imran Hossain, senior vice president and regional head of Branches Distribution Network at Prime Bank, conducted a session on career development and corporate readiness. He discussed the skills and professional competencies required to succeed in the banking and corporate sectors.

Professor Dr M. Mahmudur Rahman, pro vice-chancellor of IUBAT, attended the event as the chief guest. He emphasised the importance of stronger collaboration between universities and industry to better prepare graduates for the changing job market.

Dr Hasanuzzaman Tushar, associate professor and BBA coordinator at the IUBAT Business School, was also present.

The seminar was attended by students and faculty members, providing a platform for discussions on financial inclusion, career opportunities and the future of banking in Bangladesh.

According to Prime Bank, the PrimeAcademia initiative aims to equip students with practical industry knowledge and help prepare them for the evolving demands of the workplace.
