UNYSAB Rajshahi Division has formally welcomed its newly recruited volunteers through a reception held on Friday.

The event, held at 2pm, marked the official induction of the organisation’s 13th batch of volunteers, according to a press release.

A key highlight of the programme was a competition titled “Frame for the Future”, designed to assess and showcase the creativity, leadership potential and versatility of the new members.

Participants competed in four segments, with one outstanding performer from each category receiving a crest in recognition of excellence.

Dr Md Amirul Islam, student adviser at Rajshahi University; Dr Md Nurul Momen, director of the Career Counselling and Development Centre; and Dr Jahurul Anis, adviser to UNYSAB Rajshahi Division, attended the event.

Speaking at the programme, Dr Amirul Islam said UNYSAB Rajshahi Division has been playing a significant role in enhancing students’ competencies.

“I often feel that having such a platform during my student life would have been highly beneficial,” he said.

The keynote session was delivered by Akhteruzzaman Babu, former regional secretary of UNYSAB Rajshahi Division, on the theme “Volunteer to Professional”.

His session focused on the practical value of voluntary engagement in building career readiness and professional skills.

The presence of alumni members further enriched the programme and created an inspiring environment for the newly inducted volunteers.

Established in 2014 with the vision of “Developing Leadership through Voluntary Activities”, UNYSAB Rajshahi Division works through two key pillars: social welfare and skill development.

Under its social welfare initiatives, the organisation conducts programmes such as Project Clean & Care, Eid for Street Children, Project Happy Birthday, Dream Orange and Week for Humanity, aimed at supporting underprivileged communities and promoting social responsibility.

Its skill development initiatives include National Talent Fest, National Youth Leadership Summit, RU Talent Hunt, Next Leap and UNYSAB Accelerate, which focus on nurturing youth potential, enhancing competencies and preparing future leaders.

UNYSAB Rajshahi Division said it remains committed to empowering young people by fostering leadership, social responsibility and professional excellence, with the goal of building a skilled, ethical and forward-looking generation.
