The University of Chittagong (CU) has prohibited drone flights on its campus without prior approval from the Proctor’s Office, citing security concerns.

The decision was announced in an urgent notice signed by the university’s Proctor, Professor Dr Md Kamrul Hossain, on Sunday.

According to the notice, drones have recently been spotted flying at different locations on campus without approval. In some instances, drones were seen flying near women’s dormitories, raising concerns about the safety and privacy of female students.

Anyone wishing to operate a drone on campus must obtain prior approval from the Proctor’s Office and comply with relevant government rules and regulations.

“Those who fail to comply with this instruction will face legal action,” the notice stated.

The university has urged teachers, students, staff and visitors to follow the instructions to ensure a safe and disciplined campus.
