Sust IPE hosts IPESphere Season 2 national competition
Department of Industrial and Production Engineering at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) is organising IPESphere Season 2 from 24 August to 19 September.
Registration is under way for the national competition, which is open to undergraduate students from universities across Bangladesh, according to a press release.
Following the response to its first edition, IPESphere Season 2 is returning on a larger scale to provide young participants with a platform to demonstrate their creativity, analytical abilities, technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
The competition aims to connect aspiring innovators and future industry leaders through challenges based on real-world business, engineering and industrial problems.
This year’s competition will feature three segments: Business Case, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Competition and Innovation Challenge.
In the Business Case segment, participants will analyse real-world business challenges, develop strategic solutions and demonstrate their analytical and decision-making capabilities.
The early-bird registration fee for the segment is Tk710 per team, while the regular fee is Tk810.
The CAD Competition will assess participants’ engineering design and drafting skills, with an emphasis on precision, creativity and technical excellence.
The early-bird registration fee for the CAD Competition is Tk610 per team, while the regular fee is Tk710.
In the Innovation Challenge, participants will develop innovative and sustainable startup ideas addressing real-world challenges in the manufacturing sector.
The segment is intended to demonstrate participants’ creativity, entrepreneurial thinking and engineering mindset.
Its early-bird registration fee is Tk710 per team, while the regular fee is Tk810.
Registration opened on 29 July and will continue until 23 August.
The early-bird registration period will end on 19 August, while regular registration will be available from 20–23 August.
The competition will begin on 24 August, with the grand finale scheduled for 19 September at the Sust campus in Sylhet.
Undergraduate students from universities across Bangladesh are eligible to participate.

The organisers said IPESphere Season 2 sought to go beyond a conventional competition by allowing participants to challenge themselves, exchange ideas, solve meaningful problems and build connections with other innovators.
The competition is being held under the theme “Bigger challenges. Brighter ideas. Greater opportunities.”
Through the event, the organisers aim to create a national platform for the next generation of problem-solvers and innovators.
