The Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh has reported cases of misconduct by some visa application travel agencies, including falsification of documents, non-disclosure of fees, exaggeration of visa difficulty, delaying applications, spreading misinformation, and deceiving applicants.

On its official Facebook page, the embassy said such practices have disrupted visa processing and harmed applicants’ interests.

To address the issue, the Embassy announced that from 5 July 2026, all travel agencies in Bangladesh handling Chinese visa applications on behalf of clients must obtain International Air Transport Association (IATA) accreditation.

The Embassy clarified that it does not grant preferential treatment to any agency, nor does it relax screening standards. Applicants are encouraged to submit complete applications directly through the official visa platform to reduce delays, using the Chinese Visa Application Service Center website: https://www.visaforchina.cn/

The Embassy also stated it has not authorised, designated, or recommended any exclusive visa agency and has no partnerships with private visa service providers. It warned that legal action will be taken against individuals or institutions impersonating the Embassy in commercial visa activities.
